Carter Welch, President and Founder
Here is the story of Carter Welch, Navigator and Lead Sherpa of Denali Growth partners, in his own words.
“Every business has a mountain to conquer. My focus and strength is helping companies find and conquer their own mountains, to identify the best opportunities for change and innovation to drive growth in sales, market share and profit. Transformational change requires innovative leaders to look at things differently and guide a bold new path forward – that’s what drives me.
A line from my favorite poem, “If” (Rudyard Kipling), perfectly describes my approach: “If you can keep your head, while around you others lose theirs [then] the world is yours.” Keeping one’s head, not fearing failure, and embracing great challenges – that’s my passion.
An Ad Age “Marketing 100” award-winning senior executive, I have served Procter & Gamble and other leading marketers to develop and lead ground-breaking marketing and product initiatives resulting in over $1 billion in product and service sales growth over my career.
Why Denali Growth Partners?
Mt. Denali is the tallest peak in North America (23,022 ft) – a brutal challenge to conquer (some consider it one of the most difficult climbs in the world). Just as in business, there are tiny windows of opportunity for success, and the climb requires the right preparation and training. According to Professor James Kari, “Denali” means “the high one” or “great one” in the Koyukon language.
We can’t think of a BETTER description for the type of challenges we want to help our clients overcome, and the type of growth we want to see them create.
About me personally: I am married to my best friend, Tracey, and I’m proud to be the Dad of three amazing boys – Owen, Baker, and Turner. In addition to being an active member of Redwood Covenant Church in Santa Rosa, where I serve in youth ministry, I have coached over 35 seasons of baseball, basketball, and soccer for my boys’ teams. More recently, I began running road races and triathlons, completing 10 races in the past year.”
